About

Brendan was born in St. John’s and grew up in nearby Gander. He attended St. Francis Xavier University and graduated in 2008 with an Honours degree in Kinesiology. After returning to St. John’s for work in the fitness industry he attended Dalhousie University and graduated in 2011 with his Master’s degree in Physiotherapy. After 13 years in Alberta working in the private practice sector he has moved home to Newfoundland and now calls Avalon Physiotherapy home!

He has always lead an active and healthy lifestyle as a former competitive swimmer and university level lacrosse player. Over the years he has competed in numerous triathlons and running events and recently ran his first Cape to Cabot. He hopes living at home will allow him to finally run the Telly 10 this year. His other interests include cooking, reading, travelling, walking his dog and watching hockey.

Brendan believes an active lifestyle is the best long term solution for everyone’s rehab and part of his treatment is education and advice on home exercise so his clients are empowered to help themselves and reach their goals. His in-clinic treatment focuses primarily on manual therapy and needling techniques (both acupuncture and dry needling) for pain control and functional restoration. His advanced training includes areas of manual therapy, needling, McKenzie Techniques, The Mulligan Concept and concussion management.
