Sonia is a registered psychologist in the Provinces of British Columbia and Quebec. In 2011, she obtained a Ph.D. from Laval University in Quebec, following the completion of an internship at the British Columbia Provincial Health Services Authority. In 2013, Sonia completed a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at Barrow Neurological Institute, located in Phoenix, Arizona.

As part of Sonia's post-doctoral training, she evaluated primarily adults with a wide range of neurological conditions, including traumatic brain injury, dementia/degenerative conditions, epilepsy, movement disorders, stroke, anoxic injury, brain tumor, and others for both diagnostic and pre-surgical purposes. She returned to British Columbia in 2014 and I has been practising in the public and private sectors since then.

In February 2018, Sonia joined Lifemark Health Centre, where she provides neuropsychological services to adults following a traumatic brain injury.
