About
Emily is a fourth-year student at the Canadian College of Osteopathy in Toronto.
She started her educational journey by studying kinesiology at the University of Ottawa and graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor of Human Kinetics with Honors. She has also completed an internship at the University of Ottawa at the Gee Gees Athletic Therapy Clinic. She then discovered Osteopathy and fell in love with the holistic, individualized, and integrative approach to health care. Emily will graduate with a diploma in osteopathic manual therapy (DOMP) in 2025 and a diploma in clinical osteopathy in 2026 after completing clinical research. Emily began working as a physiotherapy assistant with Lifemark in 2018 and knew she wanted to work in a multidisciplinary rehabilitation environment.
Emily's professional expertise is underscored by her proficiency in various manual therapy techniques. These include visceral manipulation, balancing the nervous system and circulation, osteoarticular adjustments, muscle energy techniques, cranial sacral therapy, myofascial and soft tissue normalization, strain counter strain, GOT (general osteopathic techniques) and exercise prescription. Her compassionate approach to client care and her motivation to assist them in their rehabilitation journey set her apart. Emily's particular interest in low back pain, general musculoskeletal pains, TMJ, and visceral dysfunctions further demonstrates her commitment to addressing a diverse range of health issues. Her passion for health, anatomy, and overall wellness is a driving force in her professional life, and she values the opportunity to learn with her patients during every visit.
