Julie graduated with honours from Queen's University with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy in 1993. Her areas of interest are in neurological conditions and vestibular disorders. She has completed post-graduate courses in Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT), motor relearning, Saebo devices, Myofascial release, vestibular training, concussion treatment and as of 2019, completed a PWR!Moves course for Parkinson's treatment.

Julie has worked in many settings including inpatient acute and chronic hospital care, inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient clinics.
