About

Lois brings to the Ottawa Valley 29 years of Occupational Therapy experience in inpatient, outpatient, community home health and occupational medicine settings and is highly skilled in evaluating and providing therapeutic intervention for the client’s physical, functional and psychosocial needs in their daily lives.

Her expertise includes working with clients of all ages with diagnoses that include acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, progressive neurological diseases, chronic respiratory diseases, complex orthopedic injuries, as well as hand and upper extremity dysfunction. She is a certified hand therapist, a certified lymphedema therapist and is certified to administer the Progressive Goal Attainment Program (PGAP).

Lois works toward functional independence with clients through musculoskeletal intervention, therapeutic exercise, and cognitive rehabilitation, activities of daily living, thermoplastic splinting, seating and positioning, home modifications, equipment acquisition, and patient/family education. Within the scope of Occupational Medicine she has completed work readiness training to prepare clients to return to work, has performed post offer screenings and has completed office and industrial ergonomic evaluations. She also worked at a US Army Base as an ergonomic consultant performing ergonomic assessments and providing work injury prevention.

Lois is a member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in Ontario (COTO), Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT), Canadian Hand Therapy Society, American Society of Hand Therapists (ASHT), and National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
