About
Mariah is a registered physiotherapy intern who earned her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta in 2024. She is committed to helping individuals move better, feel stronger, and return to the activities they love through personalized, evidence-based care. Her approach is grounded in clinical reasoning, individualized treatment planning, and a deep respect for each person’s unique healing journey.
Before pursuing physiotherapy, Mariah completed a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Food Science from the University of Alberta in 2019, as well as a Bachelor of Education After Degree with Distinction in Secondary Education, majoring in Chemistry, from the University of Alberta in 2021. This diverse academic background enables her to consider the many factors that influence health and wellness, and it has shaped the way she educates, communicates, and empowers her patients throughout the rehabilitation process.
She works with people of all ages and activity levels, treating a wide range of conditions. Whether a patient is a senior, an athlete, a new parent, or an office worker, Mariah tailors each treatment plan to align with her patients’ specific goals, using a combination of hands-on techniques, exercise prescription, and education to support recovery and prevent future issues. Her goal is always to treat the root cause, not just the symptoms, and to help each patient feel seen, heard, and confident in their recovery. Mariah strives to create a collaborative, welcoming, and encouraging environment where patients feel empowered and supported throughout their entire rehabilitation.
In addition to physiotherapy, Mariah is a Doctor of Acupuncture in good standing with the College of Acupuncturists of Alberta. She graduated with Distinction from the MacEwan University Acupuncture Program in 2015 and as well, holds a Certification in Herbology. This unique combination of physiotherapy and acupuncture allows her to take a more integrative approach to care, addressing not only the physical symptoms of pain and dysfunction but also supporting the body’s overall balance and resilience. Mariah also holds a Yoga Instructor Certification, which continues to deepen her understanding of movement and mind-body awareness.
Mariah is passionate about lifelong learning and continues to expand her clinical skills and education to better support the individuals she works with. Whether you are new to physiotherapy or returning to care after some time, Mariah is dedicated to meeting you where you are at and working together toward long-lasting improvements in function, mobility, and overall well-being.
