About
After visiting the South Shore of Nova Scotia and falling in love with the tranquility of the area, Neil and his family moved to the South Shore from England in 2013 and made it their home.
Neil strongly believes in freedom of choice in healthcare and the benefit of more holistic options. He believes in the body's healing capacity, and sees massage as one of the many holistic options that can facilitate this. He understands the ways massage can assist the body by providing it with what it needs using the various techniques available, and how massage works on different levels- not only physical but deeper, working with the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. These two driving systems seek equilibrium and harmony in the body.
Neil trained at the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy, Halifax campus (CCMH), graduating in the Honour roll of his class to become a Registered Massage Therapist. During that time he found a passion for myofascial release therapy, and pursued extra training to increase his expertise in this area. Since graduation, he has continued to further develop specialized skills that can better serve his patients.
Neil is dedicated to helping others reach their health goals, and understands that there is never a ‘one size fits all’, in life. He believes that is also true of medical care and treatment of injuries and illness. He will suggest a treatment approach, but understands that his patients know their bodies best, and can adapt his approach to suit individual needs.
Neil enjoys treating pain conditions, understanding how deeply, both acute and chronic pain can negatively affect one’s quality of life, he finds this work particularly rewarding. He also understands the importance of simply receiving a relaxing massage, and the benefit this can create within the body and immune system.
Neil is proficient and focused, empathetic and compassionate, intuitive, and dedicated to healing. He is invested in continuous learning, and consistently pursues opportunities for skill development to be able to offer the highest quality of care to his patients.
