About
Niloo earned her master's degree in Kinesiology from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2023, following her graduation with honors in Sports Biomechanics from Tehran Science & Research University in 2018. Niloo is certified by the Canadian Kinesiology Alliance (CKA) and is an active member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Kinesiology Association (NLKA). Her career journey began as a Sports Biomechanist at the Olympic & Paralympic Academy of Iran, where she worked on elevating the performance of entry and national-level athletes. Collaborating closely with a team of nutritionists and physical therapists, Niloo helped athletes realize their maximum potential. There, she also created and patented a wearable measurement and motor control armband, enhancing the Free Throw Shots of novice basketball players through gyroscope sensor technology. Niloo's career took an exciting turn into a hospital-based 3D gait (walking) center as a kinesiologist. She provided support to patients from various age groups struggling with lower body disabilities. Niloo monitored walking patterns and tailored exercise regimens to facilitate their rehabilitation. She has also held part-time and volunteer positions as a Physiotherapy Assistant and Exercise Physiologist during her undergraduate years. In the meantime, she has been part of multiple universities and research groups, focusing on the intricacies of biomechanics and motor control. Her master's research delved into exercise physiology, exploring methods to maximize fat oxidation across different walking intensities. Outside of her professional life, Niloo loves hiking and swimming. She has shared this passion with others as a part-time swimming coach and lifeguard during her academic journey. Most recently, she obtained certification in personal training from Canadian Fitness Professionals Inc.
