About
Patrick graduated from Brown University in 1995 with a bachelor degree in Biology. Upon graduation, Patrick played professional hockey in various leagues including the Canadian national team, Cincinnati Mighty ducks, and in three countries in Europe. After five years and some positive experiences with a variety of therapists helping to rehab injuries, Patrick embarked on physiotherapy school at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut. In 2004, Patrick attained an entry level Master’s degree in physiotherapy and within a month of graduation he moved to Calgary and has been with Lifemark since this time. In 2008 the pull of home pulled his family back to Halifax and he stepped into the practice at SMU.
Since becoming a therapist, Patrick has completed several specialty courses including spinal manipulation, trigger point dry needling, and vestibular rehab. With his coursework and background in sport Patrick is positioned well, and enjoys helping all ages of patients, and people with any range of ability. This might include a professional athlete trying to maximise their potential or a 95 year old person with vertigo.
In recent years, with experience in vestibular rehabilitation, Patrick has been drawn into the world of concussion and has had some positive experiences guiding people through their healing process post head injury.
Patrick stays active chasing his two young boys around and with time permitting he enjoys road cycling, kayaking, trail running and still laces the skates up on a regular basis.
