About
Victoria graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy in 1990. She brings 30 years of experience primarily in private practice, of which, 26 years in her own clinic. Victoria’s clinical focus has been adult orthopaedic care for a variety of injuries such as MVA, Sport and Workplace. Victoria’s continuing education has been Manual Therapy and Mobilization of the nervous system and has studied with Earl Pettman, Diane Lee and Elaine Maheau to name a few. From 2000-2002 she was the Provincial Orthopaedic Course Representative responsible for organizing these courses here in NL. Victoria also has completed Part One, Two A and Three Acupuncture levels, AFCI.
Since 2017 Victoria has taken a keen interest in Exercise prescription. Through injuries of her own Victoria has seen firsthand the importance of strengthening programs for full recovery. Her recent courses include GLA:D training, (for those suffering with osteoarthritis of the hip and knee), Advanced Clinical Rehabilitation for Strength with Dr. Scottie Butcher and Exercise and Prescription with Melanie McKinnon.
Victoria is always eager to try new activities including horseback riding, Tae Kwon Do and running. She enjoys walking with her daughter and their dog, hiking and snow shoeing with friends and is the Captain of the Dragonelles, a community dragon boat team. Each year her team participates in “Paddle in Paradise Festival” a dragon boat race supporting Breast Cancer Survivors within our community. This team has been recognized several times as the highest fundraising team, although the team will say, its all about the team spirit, comradery, and the costumes. Victoria also enjoys helping at Ronald McDonald House and the Frosty Festival.
