Gary completed a Bachelor of Physical Education (Athletic Therapy) and Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta as well as an Advanced Master of Science with sports therapy emphasis from the University of Oklahoma and a two year Fellowship in Sports Physical Therapy at the Oklahoma Center for Athletes.
Gary has been a therapist and consulted for professional soccer, and hockey teams. He has toured internationally and consulted with the Canadian national swim team as well as with a number of other national, international and amateur sports teams and events. He has worked in fitness testing, exercise prescription and personal training.
His post-graduate training includes manual therapy including Mulligan and McKenzie techniques, post MVA rehabilitation, soft tissue mobilization techniques, cupping, dry needling, muscle energy, selective functional movement assessment and screening, exercise science, sports therapy and cancer rehabilitation.
Gary comes from a varied athletic background including football, track and field, triathlons (including Ironman), marathons and has worked construction, labour, and recreation jobs over his lifetime. He understands the difficulties of being limited by injury and enjoys working with clients of all ability levels and walks of life.
Gary lives an active, balanced lifestyle, being involved in cycling, hiking, backpacking, cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, swimming, and more, often and whenever possible.
