Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is a health care profession providing services to develop, maintain and restore maximum movement and functional ability. Physiotherapy helps individuals return to their pre-injury activities. Physiotherapy treatments include: injury specific exercise programs; manipulation and mobilization (manual therapy); electrotherapy (e.g. therapeutic ultrasound); and dry needling and acupuncture.
Chiropractic Therapy
Chiropratic care is a health care profession providing services to diagnose and treat mechanical disorders of the body, primarily the spine and other joints. Chiropratic care helps individuals return to normal activities of daily living and improved quality of life. Chiropractic treatments include: mobilization, manipulation, soft tissue mobilization, cold laser and instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization.
Massage therapy
Massage therapy is the manual manipulation of soft tissues (muscles and tendons) to decrease pain, muscle soreness, muscle spasm and to improve general mobility. Massage can have a significant effect on the natural healing process of the body as it increases the supply of oxygen and nutrients to the muscle tissue, improving excretion of waste from the muscle tissue.
Vestibular Rehabilitation – Management of Vertigo and Dizziness
Since there are many potential causes for dizziness, it is important that a thorough assessment is first performed by a physiotherapist who has had specific post-graduate training in using specialized equipment including infrared goggles. Along with the assessment and hands on treatment procedures.
Bracing
Bracing is a clinical field involving the application of external braces to limbs from head to toe. Some examples are knee or ankle braces for sports injuries and back braces for back injuries. A brace may be custom fit or pre sized off-the-shelf depending on the client’s needs.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is one of the oldest and most commonly used medical procedures in the world and has proven benefits for recovering from illness and injury. The technique involves inserting fine, disposable needles into specific acupuncture points throughout the body. The needles may be manipulated by the hands or by electrical stimulation. Most people find the treatment relaxing and experience minimal discomfort.
Dry needling /intramuscular stimulation (IMS)
Dry needling or intramuscular stimulation is a technique that physiotherapists, who have completed certification, use to release or lengthen muscles that are causing chronic musculoskeletal or neuropathic pain. Very fine needles (the same as used in acupuncture) are inserted directly into the affected muscle, in order to stimulate healing.
Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) disorder
You use your TMJ every single day: to eat, talk, yawn and even breathe. But you may not actually notice the joint until you experience jaw pain. If you have a sore jaw that won’t go away, consult with a TMJ specialist as soon as possible. The earlier you seek treatment, the faster you can recover.
