About

Deborah Ann Pockett, Reg. P.T., BSc.PT, BPE, graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1988. She is a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association as well as its Women’s Health division and Pain Science division.

Deborah managed a clinic in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia until 1993. She moved to Ontario and worked at Georgetown Hospital. In 1994, Deborah founded North Bramalea Physiotherapy and operated the clinic until becoming part of Lifemark Health Group. Deborah has continued as the Clinic Director, Physiotherapist and Privacy Officer.

Deborah’s achievements include: being a certified functional capacities evaluator, trained in manual therapy, the McKenzie protocol, TMJ dysfunction, acupuncture, Work Conditioning, as well as in Mindfulness for MBSR, and Yoga for Persistent Pain.

Over the past 8 years, her treatment focus has been the biopsychosocial model. Deborah has completed several courses in Pelvic Health and an immersion program for CBT. She has become a certified practitioner of ROST therapy which can help with pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain, and is certified as a Pain Truth instructor.

Her goal is to empower men and women by teaching them the skills and knowledge of mind body connection to treat their physical symptoms with self love and self compassion which is made even more effective when studied and practiced along with mindfulness and CBT training.
