About

Mandi graduated with her BSc in Human Kinetics from University of Guelph in 1994, her BSc in Physical Therapy from University of British Columbia in 1999, and her Masters of Clinical Science in Physiotherapy from Western University in 2014.  Mandi is a Registered International Sports Physiotherapist and a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapists. Mandi attained the highest Manual Physiotherapy Certification in Canada when she completed her Diploma of Advanced Manual & Manipulative Physiotherapy in 2002 and also completed the highest Sport Physiotherapy Certification in Canada when she completed her Diploma in Sport Physiotherapy Certificate in 2019.

Mandi has gained extensive experience working with athletes from a variety of sports, including:

  • Canadian National Freestyle Ski Team and Canadian Snowboard Team - 7 years traveling in Canada, USA, and Europe
  • Jamaican Women’s and Men’s National Rugby Union Teams
  • PanAm games in Toronto working with Wrestling, Judo, and Wheelchair Rugby & Alberta Winter Games 
  • Barrie Rugby Football Club (Director of Risk & Safety), Simcoe County District Schoolboard ( Physiotherapy Leader for Contact Sports Events including Football, Rugby and Wrestling)
  • Team Physiotherapist for K-Bay Wrestling, Barrie Rugby Football Club, Innisdale Secondary School Rugby & Football Teams, Submission Arts Academy, and Bike Zone Cycling Team
  • National and Provincial Level Athletes in Wrestling, Basketball, Rugby, Hockey, Cycling, Nordic Skiing, Biathlon, Triathlon, Rowing and Soccer.

Mandi has opened and operated successful private practice clinics in Jasper, Alberta and Barrie, Ontario. Mandi is passionate about learning and teaching and now acts as a mentor to fellow Physiotherapists, has worked as a Professor in the Health Sciences Department at Georgian College, is an instructor with the Orthopedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, and is an affiliate Instructor with University of Toronto and Queens University.

Mandi works hard to achieve results with a wide variety of clients, ranging from elite athletes to those with chronic pain uses advanced techniques she has learned from post-graduate training in Manual & Manipulative Physiotherapy, Gunn IMS, Sports Concussion, Temporomandibular Disorders (TMJ), Craniofacial Dysfunction, Vestibular Rehabilitation, Custom Orthotics, K-Taping, Pelvic Health/Neuromodulation, and Canine Physiotherapy.

When Mandi is not at the clinic, she enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding, sailing and wakeboarding with her husband Cyril and their 2 boys, Caius & Tiernan.

Mandi Hayes is honoured to have won the Barrie Readers’ Choice Awards as Barrie’s Favourite Physiotherapist for the past 6 years.
